At Al-Amal Academy, Middle School is a vibrant journey of academic, social, and spiritual discovery. Our dedicated teachers inspire excellence while nurturing a strong Islamic character. By Grade 9, our students shine with academic confidence, outstanding manners, and a deep sense of belonging to a community rooted in Islamic Canadian values.

Active bodies, strong character, and a spirit of school pride
Physical activity is at the heart of student growth. Our athletics program offers dynamic, structured opportunities for students to stay active, strengthen discipline, and discover the true power of teamwork.
As members of the Calgary Alternative Athletic Association (C.A.A.A.), our boys‑only and girls‑only teams compete with 15 other schools across Calgary and Airdrie. Through practices and competitions, students develop:
Every Friday, students from Grade 1 and up dive into Club-Option classes, often the most anticipated part of their week. This program allows students to choose activities that spark their curiosity in a welcoming, lively environment.
How It Works
There are essentially 4 virtues that make up the core of our character education program in the elementary and junior high divisions: Wisdom, Courage, Temperance and Justice. Our students will learn about Wisdom, specifically how to discern right from wrong, and then show Courage in their actions with a balance that produces nobility, dignity and trustworthiness. Furthermore, students will learn about temperance as the ability to live in moderation in order to show generosity, patience, tolerance and humility. Finally, at Al-Amal Academy, we will encourage our students to practice justice; to act with proper adab with all people, all the time. Our students are encouraged to apply these virtues in the classroom, on the playground, in sports competitions, on field trips and in the community.
By integrating Islamic principles into core subjects such as English, Science, and Social Studies, we ensure that the Qur’an and Sunnah remain at the heart of learning and continue to shape the character of every student.
